Cagney rises above musical material, and even dances!
VERY talented cast in completely ordinary musical with no memorable songs and a hokey story. Everyone has been seen to better advantage elsewhere.

The story is pretty interesting, the performances are fantastic (especially James Cagney who delivers and especially entertaining performance) , and the musical numbers are spectacular. The writing isn't perfect but overall, it's a good time.
