Wind Across the Everglades (1958)
In this drama, an alcoholic conservationist works with the Audubon Society during the early 1900s. He tries to save the Florida Everglades from avaricious real estate developers and poachers. The poachers are after certain endangered birds because their tail feathers look nice in women's hats.

with an ecological theme in 1958, fascinating cast including stripper gypsy rose lee and circus clown emmett kelly, and some beautiful wildlife photography, it's a shame it's so hard to find. ray was fired from the picture, some of his footage scrapped and a cheesy soundtrack added, but the results are still pretty great. love cottonmouth's band of swamp pirates. a few disjointed plot points but no serious complaintsMore
