The premiere was basically a family-friendly ripoff of Predator. It had some mystery and some dark overtones, and a small amount of soapiness involving the companions.

People who blame the downfall of Doctor Who on the Doctor being a woman are stupid, this season would have been bad even if the Doctor were a man. The writing takes a tell don't show approach where the show info dumps to you every 5 seconds. The first example that comes to mind is how they have to repeatedly state that Ryan has dyspraxia, instead of trusting the viewer to have the intelligence to work it out themselves. Speaking of the companions, they're all relatively boring. Having multiple companions has worked before so I'm not really sure what has gone wrong here but none of them have distinct personalities and only exist to finish each others lines and ask the Doctor questions

This is when it gets really stupid. You can watch seasons 1 - 10 with not too many problems, along the Doctor Who lore. But turning into a women makes the show not watchable,

Was really excited about a female doctor and hoped it would catch my heart like the prior ones but besides being really boring, most characters seem annoying and if that's not enough, it tries to lecture you like you are a primate Why did I buy the whole season back then again? Wasted money really

I think Jodie Whittaker is perfekt for the role as the doctor, but the writing is just as good as in the previous seasons. The story of the companions seems forced and the opponents of the doctor a little bit boring.

This is by far the worst iteration of the Doctor. She's incredibly hollow and the writing leaves much to be desired. Her companions are wafer-thin, and the most development comes from Graham, which isn't saying much.
