The psychological thriller examines the lives of two hunters -- one is a serial killer who preys on victims in and around Belfast, Northern Ireland, and the other is a female detective drafted from the London Metropolitan Police to catch him. The local authorities have no suspects and no experience with cases involving sexually motivated serial killers; DSI Stella Gibson has. She heads a task force dedicated to solving the crime spree, with a simple motto: Anyone not part of the solution is part of the problem. The killer? He's Paul Spector, a father and a husband leading a double life, as viewers learn from the outset. He's hiding in plain sight, the protagonist in a cat and mouse game that is every police officer's worst nightmare.

The casting of Dornan is a stroke of genius – he, like the show, is repulsive and arousing in equal measures. Go to Full Review

Lane M Dec 18 Well worth watching, done well, Excellent See more Luke G @Gonastus Dec 7 Big disappointment after the good first season. Huge plot holes... everything feels artificially drawn out. See more John C @JJC01 Aug 30 Sloth-like and completely predictable plot, bogged down even more by a boring lead character, over exposure to her every thought and action and total incompetence on the part of the police while impossible regular and continued accomplishments and impossible good fortune on the part the the villain. I held my nose for most of the first season at the request of my wife, but after throwing up a little in my mouth during the third episode of season two, I had to quit. Too many other great shows out there to waste time with this trash. See more Mike P 12/01/2024 The kind of fiercely intense and accurate verisimilitude of season 1; which was SO REAL... has given away to melodramatic flairs in season 2. Paul, the killer, asking his young accomplice.."Are you ready to go to the dark side now? Embrace your envy.." These sound like lines from Star Wars or something. Serial killers don't usually talk like this...But there's still enough compelling stuff here to hold a fan's attention; as Paul continues to circle the drain, and Stella gets closer to her capture... See more William F 09/08/2023 I gave up on this series in mid-second season. It lost my interest for the following reasons: too long-drawn out, no engaging characters, clichéed basic plot (serial murderer strangles pretty young women), maddeningly ineffective police work, unbelievable and uninteresting villain, side-lines which go nowhere (the sectarian tensions still dangerous in Belfast: Shankill Road!), irritating plot twists (the murderer becomes the counsellor of one of his victims who failed to die). I finally gave up when one victim disappeared but was presumably being held by the killer, the police had the name, finger-prints, DNA, address of the suspect, and STILL the woman chief detective stood around musing and passive (instead of launching a full-scale manhunt), looking more like a philosophy professor contemplating some conundrum of logic. It can be interesting when one knows who the killer is right from the first episode (as here) but then the chase has to be managed with more tension and urgency. See more Robert J 05/31/2023 Dont get these ratings starts out really slow then all the times they had chance to find truth they just dont I mean he with girl she can id him but they don't show her his picture an the teen is terrible actress an just annoying how no man can resist her really how when he shot she crying hello hes bruttaly killed 3 or 4 people woman but poor him just wasn't realistic for his crimes Fox would've shot the sick freak an showed been 2 hr movie not 3 drawn out years See more Read all reviews
