In one of the longest-running science fiction series in network TV history, FBI special agents investigate unexplained, mind-bending cases known as "X-Files." Though the government is convinced that the outlandish reports are false, conspiracy theorist Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and realist Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), for most of the series, stop at nothing to prove that "the truth is out there." Series creator Chris Carter also serves as executive producer of the thrilling pop-culture phenomenon.

The X-Files is one of those whacko shows that really grabs your attention. It is all highly unlikely. The acting is hammy, and the plot too frenetic. It starts with some loose premises, and weak stories, but builds as the season unfolds. The relationship between DD and GA is integral to that. The oddity that is Deep Throat appearing at the end of the season as a story arc that continues into Season 02 is odd, but did work well See more Craig B @Boundsy Jun 19 Great series which redefined the quality production standards of TV shows which followed. The first 7 series were defined by mostly great stories with two stars in David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson (yummy) who you could not take you eyes off. However, by series 8, the show was running out of steam, and suprising it lasted until series 11... the power of the shows fan base I guess.
