While we have yet to see how the rest of this experimental season unfolds, "My Struggle" made us want to believe so badly. It was the X-Files in its finest form, a perfect distillation of everything that makes this show great.

There's no sense of the desperation, panic, or even possible good intentions that we're accustomed to on The X-Files. That the pilot of the series' tenth go-around is such a astounding misfire is startling and sad.
