Barbara Townsend was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Her acting career began with roles in the series "Concerning Miss Marlowe" (CBS, 1953-55) and "Murder, She Wrote" (CBS, 1984-1996). She additionally landed roles in the TV movies "The Annihilator" (NBC, 1985-86) and "The George McKenna Story" (CBS, 1986-87). She also appeared in the TV special "Please God, I'm Only 17" (CBS, 1991-92). She also had roles in film during these years, including roles in "Hard to Kill" (1990) and the Michael Keaton action flick "One Good Cop" (1991). She also played parts in television during these years, including roles in "Quantum Leap" (NBC, 1988-1993) and "Civil Wars" (ABC, 1991-93). Townsend had a number of different projects under her belt in the nineties and the early 2000s, including "Magnolia" (1999), the Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett smash hit "Pearl Harbor" (2001) and the Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly blockbuster "The Hulk" (2003). Her credits also expanded to the Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale blockbuster "Van Helsing" (2004) and "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D" (2005). Most recently, Townsend worked on the action movie "XXX: State of the Union" (2005) with Ice Cube.
