Honored as the greatest male star in the history of American cinema by the American Film Institute, the late iconic Humphrey Bogart is now similarly memorialized with the re-release of this screen classic compilation.

In this noir sports melodrama, which is his final screen role, Bogart gives a powerful performance.

Fairly gritty and potent for its time, director Mark Robson (The Seventh Victim) delivers some terrifically brutal fight footage.

The unwell Bogie's last film is not a knockout, but his hard-hitting performance is terrific.

Ozus' World Movie Reviews

Even in a film where everyone seems to end up a loser, Humphrey Bogart finishes his career with a solid Bogie performance.

Audience Reviews for The Harder They Fall

bogie is great in his last film role as a reporter turned press agent in this fine boxing expose, a thinly veiled account of the career of mob boxer primo carnera who tried unsuccessfully to sue the producers. bogie was sick and some of his dialogue had to be dubbed but u can't even tell

½

Bogart's last film has many flaws, but his performance is so great, it makes this a memorable film.

The final chapter in Bogart's career is a fantastic one. This is a powerful study of corruption and manipulation, and one of the best crime-dramas I've seen from its era. Humphrey Bogart is terrific in the lead role.
