What to know
It gets a certain amount of mileage out of the inherent likability of its stars, but with an unfunny script and a lack of onscreen chemistry, Did You Hear About the Morgans? falls flat. Read critic reviews

This ultra-mild frolic follows the 'fish-out-of-water' comedy formula so closely its lack of surprise is almost, well, surprising.January 5, 2010 | Rating: 2/5 | Full Review…
In a silly way, it is entertaining, the mismatch is actually weirdly plausible, and try as I might, I couldn't be grumpy about it.January 5, 2010 | Rating: 3/5 | Full Review…
Parker is better, injecting a note of rawness and authenticity into an otherwise misconceived subplot about adoption. Even she can't fake any curiosity in, yet alone sexual chemistry with, Grant.January 5, 2010 | Rating: 1/5 | Full Review…
Perhaps this new decade could be the one in which female audiences are treated as something other than a dumping ground for the lazy, complacent idiocy that has passed for chick flicks of late.January 5, 2010 | Rating: 2/5 | Full Review…
The cinematic equivalent of throwing buckets of money at a house with no foundations. The worst thing is, and sadly for cinema, this house shows no sign of falling down any time soon.January 5, 2010
Audience Reviews for Did You Hear About the Morgans?
Sep 30, 2015The movie is not very original - a couple with a troubled marriage being forced to confront their issues in an unusual circumstance. If you are looking for light humour, this movie fits the billRed L Super Reviewer
Dec 13, 2014Even the likeability of Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant can't save this. They don't have any chemistry and there is nothing funny in the script. Do yourself a favour and just skip it.Juli R Super Reviewer

Aug 27, 2011I am aware that this movie had really bad reviews, but I'll write here my opinion regardless of what was written before. This romantic comedy directed and written by Marc Lawrence was not as bad as most of the critics want you to think. Major complaints were about the acting... hmmmm... Golden Globe winners Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker are there as Paul and Meryl Morgan... and I don't think that their acting was below the average... they portrayed a recently separated New York power couple on the verge of divorce just well enough for a positive review! And together with the supporting roles from Sam Elliott, Academy Award winner Mary Steenburgen, Elisabeth Moss, and Wilford Brimley it was hard to say that the acting wasn't satisfactory! (I know that Sarah Jessica Parker was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award as Worst Actress for her performance in this film but I can't see it why, even as I have to add that I am not a great fan of her...). Nothing special, but enjoyable to watch!Panta O Super Reviewer
