... it leans into the characters themselves to generate intelligent interactions, narratively propulsive action scenes, and jokes that enhance moments without detracting from the seriousness of the situation. Go to Full Review

But with enough of the same team behind it, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League is still a cool, fun, and explosively action-filled time. Go to Full Review

Loaded with absurdist anime fun and hyperkinetic action, the sequel showcases gorgeous Japanese-inspired designs and new takes on fan-favorite characters. Go to Full Review

Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League does not care about continuity, legacy or any of the other tropes of comics or anime, and is all the more amusing for it. Go to Full Review

It looks great, the character designs are brilliant, and it features surprisingly funny gags. Anyone looking for more will be bored or (more likely) confused. Go to Full Review

Steve D @RT35616104 6d I didn't enjoy the first, this was FAR worse. See more Saint Michael D @RT97651336 6d Amazing movie! This is one of my favorite DC/Batman/JL film to date! Crazy fun watching and the CG effects are top of the notch! The first Batman Ninja that I watched was good but not as great as this one. See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 17 I started watching Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League with very low expectations, since I didn't initially like Batman Ninja—though I did come around to it after rewatching it recently. On the second viewing, I was a bit more tolerant of the "anime-fication" of Batman. The animation isn't particularly bold, but it gets the job done, and some of the character designs are charming. Just don't take it too seriously; it’s not meant to be. See more Marco C @Marcovarrub Jul 16 fantastic animation that is a twist on the greatest superhero ever, I love this film See more Jade V @BLOCKBUSTRG Jul 6 Dope continuation! Funny inbetween tributes to Japan with singing bit or animated anime mash-up digitalized of Bat Inc. by Alfred! Loved Wonder Woman's character. Actually best homage to capture her in a non self-pompous annoying way. Super righteous in the coolest ways that I srsly idolized. Like awesome brutal Samurai! Genuinely loved all of the characters takes on costumes and just wished Wonder Woman's was amped up a little more & Harley Quinn's. My fave was Green Lantern chics. I found it strange that Robin still suffered hair change set back? Idk if made sense if time was reverted in normalizing the fuck ups of bad guys...like why specifically him. Y did Joker save Batman & then never seen again.. I appreciated the part where Batman tried to rescue Wonder Woman but then it cuts scenes like skipping to actually follow thru investigating. she magically reappears w/ Harley lol! It needed to be heart felt & realistic, but it kind of reflected how Batman is too late w/ loved ones. See more Nathan J. @NathanDirector Apr 13 Rating: 7.3/10 ⭐️ I expected a standard DC sequel, but this wild interdimensional Yakuza mashup totally caught me off guard. What Worked: Blending a campy 70s Gatchaman tribute with modern anime framing gives the action an awesome kinetic energy. Seeing alternate Justice League members as corrupt Yakuza bosses makes for intense standoffs. Through my Methodist faith lens, seeing the Bat-family fight to restore honor beautifully reflects holding onto grace and fighting for redemption. The Cuts: The middle part really dragged for me with a ton of heavy interdimensional exposition. Swapping out the entire English voice cast from the first movie gave me total tonal whiplash. Also, they crammed in way too many moving parts, leaving supporting character arcs feeling super rushed and underdeveloped. Verdict: A visually wild, ambitious anime mashup that trips over its messy plot. A solid watch for crazy DC experiments, but skip if you hate heavy exposition. See more Read all reviews
