Coraline is an exercise in spectacle for spectacle’s sake. Visually it’s a brilliant showcase of a difficult animation medium. Story-wise though it’s just mediocre. It’s not bad per say, the sort of thing that will appeal to children, particularly those that like darker stories, but is ultimately shallow enough that I found myself bored more often than not.

Possibly Laika’s prettiest film to date. Bravo to them for bringing us a kids film with a not very likable character too. Pretty rare in this world imo. Much different and a lot little darker than I expected. Good stuff!

My favorite horror movie of all time!! :D This movie is a CLASSIC. It's beautifully animated, and what's even better is the MUSIC!!! I can NOT stop listening to the end credits theme and how much of a banger it was. Overall I'm giving it a SOLID 10/10!

I truly scary movie made for "kids" I guess is just so amazing. There are so many smart tricks to get the horror, with so many hidden moments and things to look for. Its visually brilliant and the stop motion adds to the effect. Its emotional but scarily good... I love it and many others do to for good reason.
