The real stars of the film are [Steve] Carell and [Tina] Fey for bringing such goofy conviction to this goofball comedy, much better than the director's previous attempts at broad humour in the two Night at the Museum films.

Date Night serves up a silly little raunchy comedy that relies heavily on the charm of its lead duo to elevate its fairly standard premise. While it manages to deliver a decent enough mix of chaotic energy , it ultimately feels pretty typical of the Steve Carell comedies that were coming out at the time, offering familiar comfort rather than breaking any new ground.

Date Night surprised me with how much fun it is. It is silly, over the top, and funny throughout. A boring couple stuck in a marriage rut wants to spice things up by going on a fancy date in the city. They take a reservation that doesn't belong to them and things go off the rails for them which truly spices up their night and life to a point that they just want to go back to their boring and loving life.

For someone who Never laughs at movies I laughed quite a few times. Really some silly lines which I like, silly that is. Plus great actors. The story line is beside the point, but it actually has one. Just enjoy the nonsense, forget your troubles, laugh.
