Christine Brown has a loving boyfriend and a good job at a Los Angeles bank. Her heavenly life becomes hellish when, in an effort to impress her boss, she denies an old woman's request for an extension on her home loan. In retaliation, the crone places a curse on Christine, threatening her soul with eternal damnation. Christine seeks a psychic's help to break the curse, but the price to save her soul may be more than she can pay.

When violence appears in Raimi's Drag Me to Hell, it's not meant to be real, often it's hilarious, and what Raimi tries to show is what is going on in the mind of his principal character.

At what point does gleeful cynicism become so gleeful that it ceases to function as cynicism at all, and mutates into a blatant formalist trope of little emotional or intellectual resonance, but plenty of aesthetic...what's the word? Bliss?

this film is absolutely awful and a complete waste of time, even the ending can’t save it. the whole plot is pointless and makes little to no sense, the characters are badly written and portrayed, the script is also badly written and it’s just a generally bad film. don’t watch it

After asking a couple of my friends to watch this...a few years ago now...I either got "wow" or "laughable". I remember hearing that when the Exorcist came out. I will say, for me, this is one of the scariest movies ever. I put it up there with Psycho and The Ring (English Version). Typical Raimi...clever, well directed, solid characters and just a solid story. For me, one of the best horror films ever made.

It is well written and executed by Raimi. The movie as a whole is good but the plot twist in the finale was too predictable. Also, the main character is just not likable enough. Good old Raimi style campy horror entertainment.

Drag Me to Hell is a great movie because Sam Raimi mixes real horror with dark humor and creative storytelling. The story is simple but powerful—one decision by the main character leads to a terrifying curse that slowly takes over her life. Raimi’s directing style makes the movie intense with fast camera movement, loud scares, and crazy moments that keep you on edge. At the same time, it’s entertaining and a little funny, which makes it different from most horror movies. The ending is also shocking and unforgettable, which is one reason the movie is still talked about today.

When you go to a Sam Raimi movie you know you're in for a wild ride and DMTH delivers a barn burner. It's quick, gory, fun, and tragic what Christine goes through in a little over an hour and half. I pray we get a sequel some day. SAVE CHRISTINE!!
