Movie Info

Omar and Pete are half brothers. When their parents are eaten by lions they embark on a journey to find Omar's real father. What follows is a funny, heart-warming journey of self-discovery for both boys...in Blackpool. The Choudray family represents a truly contemporary example of modern multicultural Britain - but what will the brothers make of their eccentric newfound family? Will they be going to Mecca or Mecca bingo? In contrast to the old fashioned stereotypes about Blackpool, the comedy is sharp, current and non-stop.

  • A thoroughly likable feelgood film.

  • A delightfully, and distinctively, British comedy, complete with outdated guesthouses, 2p arcade machines and awkward humour

  • Eaten by Lions will not consume your time and leave you hungry for more effective entertainment, it'll fill the void with laughs and wacky characters worth rooting for, and it just so happens to be a wonderful tale of brotherly love and multiculturalism.

  • Eaten by Lions celebrates the kind of heart-warming multiculturalism that we knew during the summer Olympics era in London in 2012.

  • With a supporting cast filled with recognisable names such as Johnny Vegas and Asim Chaudhry, this is a pleasant seaside trip with its heart in the right place.

  • Making splendid use of its seaside setting and cannily exploring issues of xenophobia, integration, disability and family, this isn't particularly original. But its heart is definitely in the right place.
