Some British ladies long to break free on their humdrum existences, their constrained roles in society, and so breakout to ltaly for some sunshine. This being a British film from the 30s, they don't really do much, so I guess it's the thought that counts. It has to, because they don't get more than the thought. The word "quaint" comes to mind.
