Critics Consensus

Despite a muddled story and diminished spark, Enola Holmes 3 succeeds thanks to Millie Bobby Brown's winning performance and some lively action.

The Malta setting and the movie’s “merry mess” make for a fine backdrop for Brown’s continuing evolution as a charming big, or small, screen presence. Go to Full Review

For fans, this is an exciting continuation, while newcomers will find it an entertaining mystery that stands confidently on its own. The future of the "Enola Holmes" franchise has never looked brighter. Go to Full Review

Has a rather dull plot and is too busy trying to disguise the fact with all sorts of visual gimmicks. Go to Full Review

Tigrisi T @RT48781846 5 days ago Absolute abysmal garbage!!! The plot is boring as hell. One round of playing among us is packed with more action than this piece of garbage of a movie. Enola is extremely stupid and emotional. I could tel from the start that something was off with that cave. And also how does she come to the conclusion that THE Sherlock Holmes was kidnapped but knew where he would be dragged and had time to smoothly write a morse code on the mirror. If he knew he wouldn't have been kidnapped in the first place. Enola being able to lift that heavy box of gold from under the water with one arm is a major stretch. There is no way she would have the strength to do that. Worst of all after fighting Moriarty she doesn't check her pockets or takes the flipping dagger or a weapon of some sorts with her. I mean at that point she kind of deserves to die. Absolutely unrecommendable dogshit! See more Bonnie L @BonnieL Sep 4, 2026 Costumes. and scenery are great . However, the cutsie dialogue and same pacing, and even more, the underlying social messages within the action are not entertaining. I enjoyed the first Enola, but I'm done. See more Kit L @Kitz_Editz123435 Sep 2, 2026 Absolutely loving the series right now! Really good romance and story sprinkled with an action-packed Victorian setting. This is a 5-star must-see! See more Johann D. M @Johann33 Sep 1, 2026 This third mystery film follows Enola as she finds herself in Malta, on the verge of marrying Tewkesbury, when her aspirations are upended by her most complex and dangerous case yet: Sherlock has gone missing, leaving her with a mystery to solve. Enola remains as charismatic as ever, thanks to Millie Bobby Brown's performance, but the script takes a noticeable step down in quality compared to the first two films. The story is predictable, and the mystery is not nearly as well developed as those found in other Holmes works. Still, the film is entertaining enough to keep audiences engaged. Daniel Pemberton's score is not as memorable or noticeable this time around either. The visual effects also feel surprisingly unpolished, while Cavill's absence becomes particularly noticeable toward the end. Characters such as Edith could have added more to the story too, had they not been so sidelined. The landscapes are charming, but the story is missing that spark. Dad bc the first 2 were considerably better. Do yourself a favor and hit yourself in the foot with a hammer, it will hurt less than watching this flaming turd called a movie.
