Trying to approach a pastor's life from an everyday perspective feels forced; it simply doesn't work. I should sympathize with the family, but it's just like invading my neighbor's privacy. The premise is undeniably compelling, and the film has heart, which explains its importance. However, it's not enough to make it memorable. And I won't even mention the rushed issue of Jesus's face. There are a few suspenseful moments, but it’s not particularly gripping as a movie. Personally, I’ve read books packed with hundreds of near-death and Heaven experiences that left me with the same sense of wonder in far less time.
