Divers Sam and Jared love life in the Bahamas. But when friends Bryce and Amanda visit, the couple take them on a treasure-hunting trip, where they discover more than they bargained for, a downed airplane full of cocaine alongside a famous shipwreck. Unknown to Sam and Jared, Bryce makes a fatal mistake and decides to sell the cocaine, which angers a group of drug dealers, who are in hot pursuit of the divers.

Into the Blue is fun to watch because it's, well, fun to watch - particularly when its stars dive into the blue in their various skimpy bathing suits (which they do often), but it's not much of thriller. Go to Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed 04/29/2009

Frans B @FransB Mar 29 Not too shabby. Not deserving of a 20% percent rating, I'd say, well and lots of others agree. Story not so hot, lazy writing left a couple of holes and funny (peculiar) conversation lines... Cast relatively convincing in character. Great cinematography and visually stunning. Action, drama, suspense, intrigue and twists, but all slightly watered down. See more Chris L @Christoph2000 Mar 8 Hollow and completely lacking in energy, pretty much all the credit for this Bahamian-set action flick should go to cinematographer Shane Hurlbut, for almost all the underwater shots are an absolute feast for the eyes. It has nothing else to match, and it's no wonder both that Into the Blue has largely flown under the radar ever since and that Josh Brolin's career was stuck in the mud until No Country for Old Men if this is the kind of tripe he was making. James Frain proves for the zillionth time that us Brits make particularly menacing villains, but he's out of the picture after a single scene, which can't help but feel like a waste. Then again, this whole picture largely is. Great action and beautiful scenery. I hate that it is called a flop. Josh Brolin and the British actor from the movies 'Transit' and 'Reindeer Games' James Frain top off the great cast.
