Omar G 12/26/2024 Jodorowsky's Dune (2013). Someone should make the fan film to YouTube with the appearance of the actors considered, through artificial intelligence when the technology is perfected. Or with the appearance of Moebius' drawings. It is about the recruitment of talents to create the film. "I raping Frank Herbert... With love." It is not known if all that is said is true but it is entertaining. The passion for the project, the spiritual warriors and the supposed influence on Hollywood films. What I did not like was the joy for the commercial failure of Dune (1984) because I like the film. The best possible version of Frank Herbert's Dune would be the extended version by David Lynch with the death of Thufir Hawat and other unused scenes so that the cut would only last 2 hours 16 minutes, that cut would be better than the three Dune films made to date. But the very cretin Lynch does not want to make his Director's cut. The film Dune (1984) is also superior in the cast, the quotes from the film, the soundtrack, the costume designs, it has more imagination (you see Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam bald and the Harkonnens are all redheads), to the two films by Denis Villeneuve Dune: Part One (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024), based on the book by Frank Herbert Dune (1965). Happily, their work is used for many science fiction films thereafter. See more Alec B @Alec97 11/10/2023 I think a lot of the "what ifs?" are entirely unrealistic and to claim that all the major studios passed on the film because they were afraid of Jodorowsky's ideas is pretty ridiculous (it was probably just because of money) but I suppose it's easy to get nostalgic for an idea as great and insane as this was. Whether or not Jodorowsky would have "changed the world" with this film is debatable, but I don't think anyone can disagree that we were denied something that would have been totally unique.
