Does John Leguizamo need a better manager, or does he just have terrible taste in scripts? Because aside from voicing the Ice Age movies, he wastes too much time on misfires like this one.
Ministers doesn't thrill or enlighten (the religious slant to the material dries upon application), leaving Franc Reyes with another clunker to his name, and another film deep into his mystifying career.
Amateur film making and acting makes this a difficult movie to enjoy. Other than John Leguizamo's performance - everything was B or even C rate! I only hope John Leguizamo was paying rent or doing a friend a favor - he needs my help picking projects!
It seemed to me like this movie wanted to be like Boondock Saints. You got John playing his own twin, only one is horrible disfigured. A girls dad gets gunned down in broad daylight she becomes a cop in search of the people that did it. It jumped around a bit in the beginning. There was plenty of obviously plot devices. Not a horrible movie but there were a few interesting moments. I saw the beginning coming and yet I was still shocked along with one other time.
