After a powerful storm damages their Maine home, David Drayton (Thomas Jane) and his young son head into town to gather food and supplies. Soon afterward, a thick fog rolls in and engulfs the town, trapping the Draytons and others in the grocery store. It’s a poorly acted, badly written cliche. The end times religious fervor theme - yes, I get it - but it’s beaten into the viewer, God, it’s torture, throughout the film. The behavior of the characters is often ludicrous. There’s a lot of dumb yelling. It comes across as a low budget B movie but without enough cringe. It tries to have meaning, but you never believe or care. Absolute garbage.

the film is very good with a bad ending for the characters ......... but when i you see the scenes of the characters fighting and struggling in the mist , those were a great highlight , they could have done so many scenes in the mist .... but as it is still a very good movie

I didn’t like the movie for the first 30 minutes or hour because it didn’t feel that special, but then it got better and better. From a sociological point of view, I like how they explored the dynamics of a large group of people being trapped together and divided with different beliefs and approaches among each other (with some becoming quite unsettling and scary from their end as humans instead of just the monsters) and that kept it interesting. The ending was also quite gutsy and unexpected. It was a decent watch!
