It has impressive visuals, great production values, and a charismatic lead performance from Tom cruise, but its story is quite messy and convoluted.
Beautiful visuals but a rather flat and superfically touched plot. The movie feels rather slow and the plot starts moving foreward after 1 hour into the film. Also the characters are kinda boring and generic. All in all: The movie looks great but thats it.
Tom Cruise kicks ass!
Great music! Same with graphics. Like the futuristic post-apocalyptic scenario.
At start it was slow but when the 20 mins passed the kick started edge of the seat mind blowing thing starts!Awesome sci-fi movie to watch!
It was really good! Kinda wished that it ended differently. But I would definitely watch again and recommend! ♥️
Two Thumbs Up! Loved It!
This film has a garbage, nonsense plot and that's its biggest weakness. The start isn't bad but it soon falls apart once you realise what's going on. The special effects, music, and cinematography are all fine but nothing spectacular. Some of the acting and writing is terrible - Sally and Victoria being the worst offenders. I'm surprised they managed to get several well known actors for this considering it isn't worth watching.
Empty scenes, thin story, but great women supporting cast
In the cold light of Netflix, Oblivion has enough, admittedly cliche, material to fill a few seasons of TV. It's got a smorgasbord of good ideas and some genuinely superb design work and photography but that, plus a pulse pounding score from M83, is not enough to save what is a dire and clunky script full of plot holes, inconsistencies, leaps of faith, bizzare pacing and cheesy awkward moments. It's far, far too long and it's mystery's payoff is not worth it. The first half is superior to the last half and a lot of the way it's handled undoes the good of the first half. A noble and well made waste of time.
