This movie opens with Martin Lawrence playing a bear dancing in a car to Talking Heads "Wild Wild Life," so yeah, it's pretty downhill from there.
Full of copy and paste jokes and too silly for a family film.
The first half of the movie is good, I liked the setup, the human characters were interresting, the conflicts were very well handelled, but the other half with the animals and the forrest is REALLY bad. The film overal is just mediocre
A little too dark for me with a hard-to-comprehend story. Just felt the message put on a little too hard
This is an entertaining animated film. The story is simple but its funny and a great movie for kids
A bumpy start for Sony Pictures Animation, Open Season might please the kids and can occasionally be quite fun when it wants to be with a decent "hate him, kids" villain but despite its talented cast, Open Season has gags that don't quite hit the mark, a predictable story and borrowing elements suspiciously from the far superior Over the Hedge with animation that, while not bad, definitely looks cheesy next to the gorgeous animation of SPA's later movies, which sadly includes The Emoji Movie. I'm sure this movie is miles better than the direct-to-DVD sequels, however. Reviews on those NOT coming soon, sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It has as much value as leftover food you left in your fridge after a whole week. I understand the messages it tries to convey and the animation is not terrible to look at. But with these uninteresting characters and ludicrous story, you'll find it impossible to truly love it. On top its weak voice acting, poor attempts at laughs, and heavily cliched themes; all of this make it the true definition of a forgettable child-friendly level of nonsense.
One of my favourite kids films ever. Filled full of funny jokes and nostalgia
One of the most beautiful pieces of modern animation I have ever seen. I would put this just above The Godfather and Shawshank Redemption as the best film of all time. 10/10 would recommend. Great for all ages
Quite bad but funny. The best one out of the three
