It has a few moments, but they're so scarce that the movie actually made me tired as it went on.

Ah, Open Season. I watched this movie quite a few times through my life. A ton as a kid, loved it. Once or twice through high school, still loved it, and now as a 19 going on 20 year old, still found myself chuckling and going down a rollercoaster of emotions. There's a lot of things to say about this movie, but for surely, this movie isn't for everyone. I understand at the time, there were tons of similar CGI movies going around that totally pushed this one away, but that's not even close to a decent reason to hate this movie. I'd say maybe the biggest problem with this movie, is its pacing or its plot. I feel like Boog and Elliot really don't develop so much as to become buddies so quickly, but none the less, their friendship surely does put a smile on your face. The side characters, while very minor, still hold quite likeable personalities. If they were used anymore, it might've been hard to appreciate them as much. Not to mention, the action sequences and, my personal favorite, the Gas station scene, did pretty well to make the movie stick. About more than half way through, you'll probably start tipping your head saying to yourself "Alright, they're animals who are tired of being hunted, let's just see em' fight" but near the end you really tilt your head back up and get quite involved once again. Cute moments kids will love, some adult jokes that'll make the older audience actually not mind sitting through it, and all in all good family fun. In conclusion, you'll definitely open up for Open Season. ~Pepsiman

Unoriginal and cliché, with unremarkable cgi, tired jokes and derivative animal adventures.
