Movie Info

Enshrouded by fog a desolate ship drifts without direction upon gloomy sea. She is filled to capacity with passengers from all walks. Only one person, the mysterious Examiner seems to know their identities and their reasons for being aboard the ship. Two of the passengers don't fit in because unlike the others, they are only half-dead. This thoughtful, fantastical allegory tells the story of how they came to be trapped upon that hellish ship. Off-beat and well-rendered, Outward Bound is based upon a Broadway play; it was twice remade as Between Two Worlds (1944) and The Flight That Disappeared.
