Declan D. @filmbuffkid 3d Yeah it was pretty ok, it got the middle child treatment for franchises like Ant-Man 2, the jump-scares were good, but the first 15 minutes just slowed me down a bit because we know some characters and we already going to know what is gonna happen in the near future of the plot and that kinda brings down the suspense of the unknown, but when it comes to other prequels like Transformers one, we know that Optimus and megatron were like brothers but we didn’t know how or why they became enemies and that is why we were so shocked about the betrayal and brothers becoming enemies, but here it doesn’t really make any sense on why we should be receiving the same knowledge that we already know in the first place! If you just cut out the knowledge stuff in the movie and watch the first film before this, it would make sense while you’re watching this! But I’ll admit this, the third act was pretty good, But besides that it was a ok movie with good scares. 6.3/10. See more Bret M. @BretM-3 Mar 21 This sequel (which is technically kind of a prequel) does everything a Paranormal Activity sequel should. It continues to get under your skin with creepy and unsettling imagery, while still finding a way to continue the story from the first one and show the creepy happenings from a different viewpoint. I really enjoyed having the security cameras in this movie. It feels a little more natural to have a security camera record everything rather than have characters constantly carrying a camera around. It also gave us different POVs for the scary night videos, rather than keeping us all in one place like the first movie. And that's really all there is to say about this movie. I enjoyed it quite a bit and think that (even though it's not as good as the first) it does feel like a worthy successor to that first film. If you liked the first Paranormal Activity movie, definitely give this one a watch. "Paranormal Activity 2" is a distinct step down from the original, but it is still a fun movie, especially in the final act. A lot of the movie is buildup that is admittedly creepy, but a bit of a rehash of the original. I liked the idea of the movie being a prequel, but I felt the intrigue wasn't as strong as the movie thinks it is. Overall, it is a decent sequel that is certainly messy but should be enjoyable enough for fans of the original. I was tempted to skip the night footage because the tension was intense, even when nothing was happening. That said, they lowkey fumbled the ending, and I got a bit lost trying to figure out which character is which (maybe I'm just dumb though). Overall, it’s a great film and totally rewatchable, but it does have some big flaws!
