Dallas H @FozzieMcFly Jun 25 Another installment of Perry Mason with a few guest appearances that I recognized in retrospect: Ian McShane, Teresa Wright, and Terry O’Quinn. The story for this movie is quite a stretch for me to suspend my disbelief. It is one thing to willingly accept that Perry Mason can easily traverse the United States, drop into any criminal trial, and be the lead defense lawyer. However, they doubled down on this one by setting it as a military court-martial in France. They tried to address the situation by having Perry offer a throw-away line of dialogue about needing to dust off his skills as a court martial lawyer since it's been "several years" since the last time he needed to use it and then at a separate point in time gave a very weak argument that he cannot practice in France becaues they have a different set of legal codes that he is unfamiliar with, but would still give it an attempt to try the case anyways.
