Race 2 released on 25th January 2013 and was made on a high budget of 94 crores rupees. It was produced by Tips Films and distributed by UTV Motion Pictures. This film revolves around John Abraham and Saif Ali Khan and how old events unfold certain mysteries in this part. Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez, Aditya Pancholi, Amisha Patel are the new characters in this film. The theme of this film remains the same about hate and betrayal. John Abraham and Deepika Padukone share an unsound sister-brother relationship in the film and how John Abraham becomes the crux in Saif Ali Khan's story forms the rest of the story. This film is a magnum opus and has used a significant amount of good technology. The action scenes are very good. The direction and screenplay are very fine. The music in the film is excellent and I give it a separate rating of 5 out of 5 stars. This film is very entertaining and if you ever get the time of watching movies then do watch this film. The presentation in this film is very good and the places of shooting are very beautiful. The places of shooting, the direction, the music, the acting of the characters, their dance make a complete wholesome dish and I think it will give you joy and would entertain.
Loved this movie! Mind boggling storyline. Sab games khel rahe hain.
Amazing liked the movie nice plot great acting nobody did too much overacting
"Race 2" almost plays out like a parody of its predecessor. I enjoyed the first movie and think this movie tried way too hard to emulate it's ridiculous but entertaining style. I found the story to be pretty uninvolving and most of it be kind of a drag. I thought some moments were entertaining, but as a whole, I wasn't engaged by much of it. It has some fun twists but it is definitely a very forced sequel and really isn't worth the time.
I would have given it a single star if it was a Hollywood movie. But it gets three for originality and singing far from the usual Bollywood cliÄ?he. Not very far but not close..
Far more cooked up than its predecessor, predictable and loses purpose mid-way. I mean how many plot twist can a man handle. Its like a wannabe Hollywood movie.
This was one my first movies when I was introduced to Bollywood Films & its a real treat. Its very cartoony, with lots of silly dialogue and over the top action scenes, but thats what makes this an entertaining film. Like all Bollywood films, its a 3 hour epic with tons of twists and lots of little pauses for mini-music videos and dance routines that are quite refreshing to someone who isn't really versed in the aura of Bollywood and films from the eastern side of the globe. If you're an English or American movie goer that likes the occasional foreign film for diversity, this is a fun action-filled flick that you will enjoy if you don't take it too seriously.
Dishy looking star cast without any soul to their on screen characters. This whole movie can be summed up in one simple line!
And now the elaboration - In this movie, each and every character is the epitome of fitness & fashion and each and every frame seems to be straight out of Dabboo Ratnani's calendar! The director duo have attempted the Hollywood style canvas and storyline, but have been unable to create the magic and energy of their past hits like Baazigar, Soldier, Race etc. Essence of the movie is supposed to be betrayal which is enticing to watch in thrillers. However, it becomes senseless when you watch betrayal upon betrayal throughout the movie. Because of this even some good enactments lose their valor as the audience half believe in their authenticity and eventually their sentiments turn out to be correct!
Entire cast has worked very hard on their looks and build up and in a couple of scenes John and Saif do stand out. But then again those scenes get absorbed in your mind as mere individual scenes and don't do much to your experience of movie watching as a whole. Keeping with the tradition of the movie's prequel, Anil Kapoor has been given some corny (read sick) lines and he mouths them with as much of innocence as he is capable of depicting. Youngsters may enjoy this flick just for the looks of it. Audience who are not much into Hollywood movies may also get awed by the display of fascinating (read goofy) technology in the film. But many will feel let down as much was expected from the sequel of high energy flick 'Race'.
Too much of a copy in terms of twists, double twists and double/double twists of Race 1 - as a result, they become all too predictable. Outside that, the movie appears extremely jumpy for whatever they tried to do in the name of style. Songs are certainly not even a patch on Race 1. Overall a classical disappointing sequel.
Even twistier than the first! Great action and plot. How do you top killing someone for the insurance money? By stealing the Shroud of Turin! "Five years ago, in 2008, the Tauranis and Abbas-Mustan delivered a taut, enthralling thriller in RACE. The intricate plot, the serpentine twists and turns in the narrative, good looking men and women double crossing each other, the dazzling locations and the adrenaline pumping stunts and chases left an ineradicable impression on the heart and mind of the moviegoer." It doesn't have the step-brother rivalry of the first, and the music is contrived. But, I think Padukone more than makes up for Basu and the James Bond/Don/National Treasure aspects are well executed.
