...an almost epically terrible misfire that's deservedly been forgotten in the years since its 1987 release.
James Belushi and John Ritter make a great pair in this amusingly off-the-wall buddy comedy.
Just when you think you know what is going on, things get ridiculous. I wasn't sure if I should believe what Belushi was saying about the UFO's in the movie until the very end. The character development is good, that was the best part of it, they didn't need all the ridiculousness going on. It also could have been funnier, but in the end it's entertaining.
Great teaming of Ritter and Belushi in a truly funny film. This is a film that I am surprised is quite forgotten, even as a late night cable film, since it shows both leads at their best. And check out the picture of Jim Belushi on this Flixster page. The guy has not aged well at all. (if I wanted to be in really poor taste I would say he aged better than Ritter, but I won't)
So dumb and forgettable, but I love it.
