TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 6d Saw 3D is definitely one of the more confusing entries in the franchise, starting with the title itself. After six numbered films, suddenly calling the seventh one Saw 3D feels gimmicky and strange, especially with the number three sitting there like it belongs somewhere else. Still, once the movie gets going, it does what the Saw franchise has always done well: continue the bigger story. The film keeps the continuity alive, connects back to the previous chapters, and still gives viewers that constant feeling that another twist is waiting around the corner. It does feel more drained than some of the earlier installments, and certain moments come across more over-the-top than effective, but it never fully loses the plot. While it is not one of the strongest films in the series, it still works as another chapter in the larger Jigsaw puzzle, keeping the suspense, brutality, and franchise mythology moving forward in a way fans can still appreciate. The first trap was so goofy, but fortunately the film quickly got better. It's exciting, and I think most of all open questions were answered quite well in this last part.
