Movie Info

In this film, Chicago truck farmer Selena sacrifices everything for her son Dirk, dreaming that the boy will become a successful architect. But the callow Dirk breaks his mom's heart by becoming a bond salesman. Selena vows that Rolf Pool will not prove a similar disappoint to his parents.

Good Stanwyck film...she shows loits of range as she goes from teenagers to senior through the course of the film. Better Davis is also very good in one of her few "good guy" roles.
