the work of a true master of horror within the confines of the television medium. And it's got Carpenter's visual eye behind it, not to mention some genuine star power in lead Lauren Hutton
Even with the limitations created by a made-for-TV movie, Carpenter crafts a film that has very little filler, precise camera work, and a sense of helpless dread that builds and builds.
Like Michael Mann with The Jericho Mile, it ably demonstrated that Carpenter was someone too skilled to only be confined to boob-tube fodder.
Someone's Watching Me! proves to be such a tough slog for much of its brief running time that periodic highlights like that are essentially (and ultimately) rendered moot.
Not one of John Carpenter's best moments but for a late 70's TV movie it's better than most. It's biggest weak point is the killer's reveal which once you see him you find yourself wondering who the hell he was.
