H Mar 9 saw it so many years ago...forgot how great and timeless series. love the actors and great action. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" (2014) is a truly enjoyable movie, if you liked the first two. I'm not a fan of the series, and don't wait for these movies to come up, haven't read books and i don't even try to watch them as soon as possible, but when i do I enjoy them very much. Part 1 continuous the story where it left in previous movie, but i won't go into details here. If you liked first movies, you will like this one as well nevertheless it doesn't feature any games this time. It's all about revolution from now. Overall, Part 1 is a solid movie on it's own and a great warm up to the final chapter. It's has some solid acting (especially from the lead, but no wonder here), nice settings, interesting and involving plot, very good special effects (although there aren't many of them here). See more Zane T @ZaneThind Feb 23 A very solid movie and it acts more of a feel good movie than compared to the two movies prior to this. When I talk about the feel good part I mean the part of uniting and fighting against oppression part. Despite the action heavy focus and journalistic approach of this film, there is still a story to be told here. The themes of this franchise are still the same and this entry leans heavily on family and love. The film does get more tense when we see Peeta and hear Finnick talk about President Snow on camera. Julianne Moore I must say gives one amazing performance in this film as Madam President. Her powerful speeches are absolutely scene stealing. Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss also turns in a another good performance and I must say this film shows her at her most emotional. The manipulation of media for propaganda is truly insightful to see in this world, and brings an additional layer to the story as a whole.
