Movie Info

Antoine Moreau (Tom Courtenay) is an aging mime living in Czechoslovakia with his girlfriend, Michele (Ingrid Held), during the Holocaust. When the Gestapo tries to apprehend Michele for working with the enemy, she accidentally dies and Antoine, who is not Jewish, is sent to the Theresienstadt concentration camp to engage in an act of propaganda: He is to stage a play to show allied forces that ghetto life is pleasant. But despite the danger, Antoine's conscience may alter his performance.
