I been waiting for this for 3 decades and I finally got this on DVD and it was a true masterpiece to make a perfect Finale. I had seen it in the past, but that was at least thirty years ago. I have been a huge fan of "The Flintstones" all my life. I enjoyed the original series as well as a few of the television specials produced after the original series finished its run. However "The Man Called Flintstone" is something I did not enjoy at all. I was surprised at how violent the movie is. Yes, I am fully aware of the fact that it is an animated movie, and there were a number of scenes in the original series were we saw huge pratfalls, Fred either hitting himself on the head with a bowling ball and/or dropping a bowling ball on his foot. However in this move, the violence seems much more brutal. Especially the scene where Fred's doppelganger, secret agent Rock Slag, is brutally beaten by Wilma, Betty and Barney (Barney smashes a large flowerpot over Slag's head.) and when Slag is thrown off the roof of a building by two of the main villain's henchmen. That was a major liability for this movie. Also the songs are not very good. They don't fit in with the story well and they are forgettable for the most part. If you are looking for a "Flintstones" movie worth watching, I would highly recommend the far superior "A Flintstone Christmas".
