Movie Info

An urban automobile magnate devises begins searching for a replacement for his recently departed general manager. He narrows down his search to three of his best executives. Because each man is well qualified for the job, the CEO has difficulty making up his mind and so decides to take a new tack. Instead of sizing up the men, he will make careful examinations of their wives to see if they supportive and have the right qualities. All three wives are beautiful, but there the similarity ends. The wife of one executive is ruthless, social-climbing and ambitious. She will do anything, even if it means compromising herself to see that her husband wins the position. Another wife, loves her husband but realizes that she is married to a work-a-holic. Already neglected, she realizes that she will lose him to the new job and so has mixed emotions about helping him. The third wife and her husband comes from Kansas City. They are essentially small-town people and though she wants him to succeed as well, she doesn't know if they could be happy in fast paced ultra sophisticated New York. Each does her best to influence the tycoon, but in the end, after much drama, and even a little comedy, the women show their true colors allowing him to choose the best man for the job.

  • Ultrapassado e machista, este filme seria totalmente descartável caso não contasse com um senso de humor leve e ingênuo para os padrões atuais.

Stylish, ultra glamorous drama with a light touch. As delicious as a box of chocolates without the guilt afterward, Everyone is good but Betty Bacall wraps it up with a sharp edged portrait of a corporate wife who has built a tough exterior to protect herself but still has a good heart. Clifton Webb is an upper crust delight!
