[Automan was] visually spectacular but dramatically inert. Go to Full Review

The show featured some special effects that are still impressive for the time. Go to Full Review

To say that Automan was ahead of its time is both very true and so very, very false... False, in that the ability to tell a good story is nothing new. Go to Full Review
Kevin Kelly io9.com 07/03/2018
Automan was television's bastard child answer to the movie Tron, and featured a sentient crime fighting computer program with a Lamborghini. Go to Full Review
Jeremy Ulrey PopMatters 07/03/2018
The series, Automan, was much more grounded in plot than Tron. Go to Full Review

Chris S @RT27700256 Apr 1 I'm not sure why some people are fond of this short lived series, especially reading the reviews on IMDB. The effects for their time were really good, however it lacked in everything else. The characters were extremely 2 dimensional in nature. Desi played a constantly bungling detective, Automan was always a smug jerk, cursor always found an opportunity to be a perve, and the police chief played your typical always angry chief. Not sure why people seem to have fond memories of this short lived show. There's a reason why the show was short lived. See more Read all reviews
