A recently paroled master thief assumes the identity of Sheriff Lucas Hood in Banshee, Pa., where his former lover and partner in crime relocated years ago and reinvented herself as Carrie Hopewell, the wife of the town's prosecutor. As Lucas attempts to reunite with Carrie and keep his past a secret, he resumes his life of crime, even as he's hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier, including a mob boss who seeks revenge against Lucas and Carrie for the jewel heist that landed Lucas in prison.

Critics Consensus

Banshee boldly pivots into a darker and more mature mystery for its fourth and final season, finding fresh terrain for the proudly pulpy series while providing satisfying closure.

As dark and nasty and psychologically tormented as Banshee has always been, it's also been fun on some level, and it's incredibly hard to have fun playing in this particular sandbox. Go to Full Review

If there's one thing Banshee has always been, it's a show that does everything on its own terms, and that includes its ending. Go to Full Review

Banshee's story is full of twists and unexpected connections, as well as its telltale brutal violence. In a sick streak of creativity, the show continues to find new, gruesome ways to kill people. Go to Full Review

With "Requiem", Banshee doesn't go out like the funeral procession its title suggests it would: but it's that final twist of optimism that seals everything neatly into place, a final hour that is more than a fitting farewell to a memorable series. Go to Full Review

Gregory S @Gregory566 Nov 22 I absolutely loved this show from start to finish. Probably the most underrated unknown series of all time. The fact that 2 of my favorite characters were a cross-dressing hacker and Aryan Brotherhood cop is all I need to say. Hollywood could learn a lot from this series. Each character served a unique purpose and nothing was forced. See more Aaron U @RT41453689 Apr 27 This was a great show from the first episode. A couple times the dialogue was a bit cringe, and sometimes the plot was a bit Scooby Doo where they kept on sparing a bad guy on his good word only for him to come back even harder later, but aside from those minor bits, the show was great! Banshee also stuck the landing with an ending that was satisfying, made sense, and left no ambiguity. At the end, you’re sorry to see it go, but happy you got to watch it and meet the characters. It reminded me of The Expanse, the first three seasons of The Boys, or Daredevil. It was just good, and I cared about the characters. Great show!!! See more Chris B @RT28138699 03/24/2025 One of best seasons of TV ever . I didn't love the ending but the writing and character development is amazing. See more Lane M @RT31121284 02/27/2025 I love this series, great acting, action, drama, a bit of everything See more Aliens F @RT12305941 01/12/2025 We need more seasons this show is awesome See more Shaun R @Shaun666 12/31/2024 One of the most underrated series ever. Not overlong and it doesn't take it self too seriously despite being violent and action packed. The best way to describe it is that Banshee is a load of fun. See more Read all reviews
