Before Annabelle of the "Conjuring" movie series, there was another terrifying doll. After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begins to expose the town's hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky's past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll's untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

I absolutely adore this first season and I like the added part that the original actor who voiced Chucky is not only a part of this television series but his daughter is the one who plays him in the 80s and she is the one who he possesses as a female so I love those parallels

To people who watch for the campiness and goofiness–with a side of murder–the show really does deliver! The colorful set design is also blended with absolute, Wednesday-level gloom, which makes for a striking visual experience.

The franchise's best outing since Child's Play 2, Chucky: Season 1 brings the killer doll back to his roots—contained, personal, domestic horror—while sprinkling in the greatest comedic bits of Bride and Seed. Don Mancini's vision for his pint-sized horror icon's small screen debut is extremely tight and palpably fully realized.
