Each episode of this cooking competition, hosted by Joel McHale, begins at the scene of the crime -- a kitchen that was just used to make an amazing, mouthwatering dessert that has since disappeared. The chef teams of two are challenged to scour the kitchen for clues and ingredients to figure out what was baked. Next, each team must duplicate the recipe based on their guess for celebrity judges chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp. To take the $100,000 prize, the competing dessert makers will need to prove they have the technical know-how, imagination and problem-solving skills needed to decode and re-create incredible desserts and cakes from across the world.

For a show about solving mysteries, it's unfortunately light on suspense. Go to Full Review

Crime Scene Kitchen is enjoyable because of Joel McHale, full stop. Go to Full Review

The major crime, though, is what a wasted opportunity this is. Leave it to the producers of Big Brother to create a show called Crime Scene Kitchen and not actually include a crime scene, or anything resembling one, or anything resembling entertainment. Go to Full Review

08/23/2021 This show's premise is extremely interesting but producers miss the mark when it comes to delivering an experience that the audience agrees with and can even comprehend for several reasons. Please see below: 1. I hate how they barely take previous performance into account. It really sucks to feel like our favorites from past episodes are always in a feeling of sudden death. Like one bad performance, and they're off the show. It sucks as a viewer to watch a team win best baker in one week and are sent home the next week. To solve this, the team's history in the competition should play a role in the elimination. 2. It's soo annoying when you can tell they put so much effort into the food and just because it's wrong, they still eliminate the team… even if the food was beautiful AND delicious!! That's my gripe with the show , they want it to look good , be accurate , and pretty but will eliminate you if you get the food wrong 😭 I think the competition should be point based where they get a bunch of points for getting it right (or are rewarded points for their closeness to the correct answer) in addition to being awarded points for the other characteristics (taste, appearance, etc.) I think as long as you got like Two out of three (accuracy, appearance and taste) you should be good, and your points should carry over from the first part of the show to the second! Soupy apple pie should not have won over Hope and Shania's consistent performance, period! See more 07/15/2021 I think this is a moronic show and a total waste of ingredients. This doesn't teach the viewer anything and the shows seem to be the same thing over and over. See more 07/15/2021 This is a great show. Hoping there will be a second season. One thing I can't stand is the mother daughter team of Emma and Leslie. Emma is not nice at all. She is very verbally abusive to her mother. She is very mean and nasty every episode. Hoping they go home soon. I feel sorry for Leslie. All she tries to do is help and keep up Emma's spirit. See more 06/03/2021 People couldn't follow the clues if their lives depended on it. See more 05/28/2021 I enjoy cooking competition shows, so this is right up my alley. I'm looking forward to watching future shows! See more Read all reviews
