They may have spared no expense on the visual execution of this world, but that's the only way this avoids feeling like a cheap TV production. Go to Full Review

Tim C @RT48001474 01/15/2023 A wonderful childhood memory! The 3-part miniseries Dinotopia succeeds in presenting a coherent world that will absolutely satisfy children. It will fill them with wonder and stimulate their imagination. Adults, however, may get bored. The plot is quite predictable, and the pacing is a bit slow in the second part, but despite these flaws, the series has a few well-delivered messages. As for the acting, a younger cast would certainly have made the main trio's reactions more believable. The CG dinosaurs are obviously a bit dated, but are an impressive achievement for that time. If the acting doesn't break your immersion, the CGI won't. The series is also to be commended for giving prominent roles to lesser-known dinosaurs such as Chasmosaurus or Stenonychosaurus. Finally, an underrated part of the series is the score. Trevor Jones delivers an iconic soundtrack, which is matches the ambition of the visuals. Overall, this miniseries is a very satisfying family-friendly adventure. If your kid likes dinosaurs, give it a try. See more Read all reviews
