Because that's the real draw: characters and theatrics. That's not to say the subterfuge, experiments, and prescient tropes ("The Big 51", nuclear war, etc.) aren't. Those narrative issues simply move beyond a single season's scope.

Fallout is objectively good television, I just got no real satisfaction from season 2. Obvious reason is too many plotlines to provide all the necessary payoffs. I didn't pause after a single episode in season 2 and say "now that was something special". It's why it makes it nearly more frustrating than lesser tv series because it's such a hair away from being truly great.

Plans are hard, chaos is easy. Deliberately chaotic, yet very deliberate, sneaky clever and confident. Lots visual storytelling and attention to detail. Requires perceptiveness and paying attention.

Good season. Maybe not quite as good as season 1, but it was still good and sets things up for an interesting season 3. Love how faithful it remains to the video games and all th different Easter eggs they put in for the game players.

More of a bridge season, a mid point in overall story. But excellently made, and executed well. Some characters' arcs got the first half of the journey conclusions. Else is expanding!
