Tv Season Info

Series 4 of the crime drama begins with McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) helping Wo Fat (Mark Dacascos) escape from a maximum security prison as thugs break in and try to kill them. And Steve continues to ponder whether Wo Fat could be his half-brother. Back at Five-0 headquarters, Catherine (Michelle Borth) is kidnapped, and Steve is forced to break the law and go up against a tough new SWAT commander (Chi McBride) to rescue her. As for Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale), their lives are threatened when their secret location in Hong Kong is compromised. Also, McGarrett and Danny (Scott Caan) both receive unexpected visits from relatives. Steve's Aunt Deb (Carol Burnett) unexpectedly drops by and reveals a shocking secret; and Danny's mother (Clara Williams) arrives and tells him she is considering leaving his father (Tom Berenger).

The show makes a point, with scenes of the Pearl Harbor bombing itself, not to diminish the devastation of the attack or the cost of its aftermath.

You don't usually come to Hawaii Five-O to think, or to feel, or to learn about a tragic miscarriage of justice that took place more than 70 years ago, but the episode, titled "Ho'onani Makuakane", easily scores with all three.

While "Pukana (Keepsake)" wasn't a masterpiece by an stretch, it managed to elevate itself above filler status with intrigue and yet another tear-jerking closer.

Kono and Adam didn't appear all that much in this episode, but every time we see them, they're story gets more and more interesting.

[It] was so jam-packed... there was barely a second to catch your breath. All of which makes sense - there is A LOT going on as season 4 of Hawaii Five-0 begins, and this episode did its absolute best to touch on all of it.
