Second season -- not so much. The general story continues to heavy TV cliche land (evil corporation poisoning the water etc. etc.). It's pretty farfetched. Hilde starts to alternate between being brave and being weepy. Izzy continues to alternate between being whiny and being mopey. Except at the end when they artificially and incongruously make her a student leader (even though everyone dislikes her). In the meantime she has a mopey boyfriend and a cliched Lesbian girlfriend (in America, the second season is the LGBT season). Izzy is a 14 year old girl. Matty is still a mediocre actor with a bad wig and Bridget has little to do. And Spoon, played by a boy, is a fully out, flamboyant 10-year old 'girl'. Not great. See more Bososkey j @Oscarj May 29, 2024 Id say this season tops the first in almost every way possible(it was a high bar) by digging deeper into the characters and their histories and emotions. episodes 7-10 are particularly stunning as they seem to 1-up themselves each minute with the season ending with many satisfying payoffs. one small issue I have is Frank Briggs Sr’s character turnaround from the first season, as I was not convinced by the massive 180 In his attitude, but at that point, I’m just nitpicking. 9/10. See more Mar 18, 2022 No little suspension of reality is required now and then in terms of what Hilde & Co. get away with, but the show just makes you want to keep watching. I think that's mainly due to some really terrific acting. If there's an exception to the rule, it's Hilde's dad, played by Jim Sturgess - not that he's bad, but others outshine him.
