Psychiatrist Craig Huffstodt finds himself in the midst of a midlife crisis after a teenage patient kills himself in Huffstodt's office shortly after coming out to his parents. Life at home isn't all that rosy either, and Huff may or may not be imagining a homeless man he helps out.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Huff is worth a session thanks to a sterling cast and pithy writing, although the series' insistence on being salacious often clashes with its virtues.

It lacks the great writing you'd expect on a drama aiming for critical cachet. You can see the existential unease etched into Azaria's face, but clichés tumble out as soon as he opens his mouth. Go to Full Review

Does Huff live up to such a show of faith? Depends on how you feel about the genre of drama filed under "Rich Guilty White Guy Struggling With Mid-Life Crisis". Go to Full Review

When you try to describe Huff, it falls apart in your hands, because although there are story lines that progress, the show's strength is in the small moments that don't always lead anywhere. Go to Full Review

06/06/2020 This show sails in originality, intelligence and deft acting from the ensemble cast. It's a refreshing view into a "if these walls could talk" view of life. That is until episode 10. Craig and Beth get seduced into boring, predictable temptations that threaten their marriage that's presented like any other show on TV. Up until that point, Huff does a good job at avoiding vanilla trappings and story lines. It's such a bummer when it falls off the rails, it's almost as if they ran out of ideas so they chose the most obvious. Totally heartbreaking because it's an amazing show otherwise.
