After almost losing his life in a plane crash that killed his father, teenage prodigy Tony Stark, heir to the billion-dollar corporation Stark International, honors his dad's memory as the superhero Iron Man, his alter ego charged with protecting those who are less fortunate than him. With the help of his friends Jim Rhodey Rhodes and Pepper Potts, Stark uses his suit of invincible armor and his technological inventions to take on such enemies of world peace as Mandarin, Iron Monger, Crimson Dynamo, Whiplash, Mr. Fix and Count Nefaria.

Once we know the players on the scorecard, the action begins - and "Iron Man" should have plenty of magnetism for anyone who likes a good adventure tale. Go to Full Review
Brian Lowry Variety 03/10/2020
Other than the action, though, everything - from the slightly anime-style character design to Tony's banter with his teenage friends, Rhodey and Pepper - is mostly an uninspired bust. Go to Full Review

This is a somewhat acceptable mash-up of Tony Stark and Peter Parker that might infuriate you at first, but ultimately leave you thankful that a whole new generation will gain an appreciation for Shellhead. Go to Full Review

It's a cartoon for kids, and plausibility is pretty much beside the point. So what if Tony's a teen instead of adult? He's got a flying suit and can shoot lasers from his hands. That's more than enough to capture the attention of young viewers. Go to Full Review
Ewan Paterson What Culture 07/06/2018
Sad to say, but Iron Man is just way more interesting when he's an arms dealer. And you know, a genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist. Go to Full Review

Christian H Mar 6 This show sparked my love for superheroes so I have a lot of nostalgia for this first season. And even almost 16 years later, this is still one of my all time favorite shows. The first season was a great introduction to this spin on Tony Stark as a character with combining elements of Spider-Man and it may not be for everyone, but it was certainly for me. See more 06/19/2022 Great representation if iron man was a teenager. I enjoyed watching it as a kid and remember how great it was rewatching See more Nethma T 02/16/2022 It has everything you can hate.
