Depraved underachieving might look easy, but for the egocentric Mac, Charlie, Dennis, Frank and Dee, it's an art form; "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" follows "The Gang," the owners of the unsuccessful Paddy's Pub; a group of degenerates who loves nothing more than to scheme, conspire, and mostly revel in each other's misery; whether gaming the welfare system, exploiting dumpster babies, pretending to be crippled, impersonating officers or faking funerals, The Gang never stoops too low in the name of making a buck.

Thank goodness for Danny DeVito, whose total commitment to this insanity often makes the unbelievable just believable enough to be funny. Or maybe it's the other way around. Go to Full Review

As with a lot of this season's episodes, "Sweet Dee Has A Heart Attack" starts brilliantly and then peters out by the end. But before the fade, "Heart Attack" features a steady stream of great lines and snappy interplay. Go to Full Review

With this past season's 13 episodes, the show takes its humor into a whole new arena of supremely uncomfortable wonderfulness. Go to Full Review

It's this dark kind of humor that makes the show strangely satisfying, perhaps because that style of humor is not as common as the more cleaned-up stuff you see on the regular networks. Go to Full Review

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is without a doubt one of Without a doubt one of the funniest shows on TV, but also the most outrageous one. There is nothing these people won't do... seriously, nothing. Go to Full Review

Bobby S @RT95066880 Oct 18 This is the season where they really hit their stride perfectly. This season gives us many classics. After Danny devito really finds his spot in the group too, this is a must see for anyone curious about or trying this show out for the first time. See more matthias s @Thescreenasvor Aug 7 Season 4 of *It’s Always Sunny* hits a chaotic high note at 79%—easily the best season so far. Whether it's staging a botched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition-style house raid, rewriting American history with powdered wigs and syphilis, or debuting *The Nightman Cometh* (arguably the greatest musical about a troll ever), the gang goes harder than ever. Every episode feels iconic, with bigger swings, dumber plans, and just enough self-awareness to make the madness feel brilliant. Sure, a few bits go off the rails—but that’s the point. It’s unhinged, unforgettable, and Sunny firing on all gloriously twisted cylinders. See more dave d @RT34924333 08/04/2024 Solid and dependable. It's a good plus show. Well worth the background noise and a guaranteed laugh or two per episode if you've come this far. See more Regal R @RT96555783 07/02/2024 80/100 - Wow, right out of the gate they just throw you into the thick of it. I like how bold the writers are, and I think a lot of the humor is just them picking the most offensive topics and just running with them. I feel like this show can get old because its the same format every show, but thats also what makes it comfort food. The same characters you know and love, always acting the same, getting into the same shenanigans. I will miss shows like this and the fact that no writers are daring enough to make films like this anymore. See more Bec B @RT82504175 10/03/2023 The Nightman Cometh is absolute gold!!!!!! See more Teddy B @RT38636458 08/27/2023 By this point in the series' journey, the showrunners have perfected the formula to creating the perfectly witty and gut-bustlingly hilarious world of self-indulged, egotistical, narcissistic, and illusional underachievers who only can ever live in the depraved world of their own extremely immoral and misguided achievements. My full respect is given to these showrunners because they have shown me the impossible... actually making mean-spirited characters funny instead of falling into the habit of having us sympathize with them.
