Rin is an energetic girl who lives in a grassy frontier village. Finis spends her days in solitude deep within the royal palace in the bustling capital city. While the girls appear to be opposites, they share a special power that no other person has -- the power of song, which can heal wounds, create water and stir the wind. Guided by destiny, the two young women each face an arduous journey as the shadow of war looms over the kingdom, tainting their miraculous songs with the blood of innocents. Loved ones meet their deaths as silent screams echo through a stone prison, and Rin and Finis hope that the final song will be one of hope.

Jonathan K 06/18/2023 This is a difficult series to judge, because it is one show for the first 7 (out of 10) episodes, and then a COMPLETELY different show for the remaining 3. Admittedly, I did genuinely enjoy quite a number of the moments from these last few episodes, particularly the final scenes, but the intense tonal shift, as well as complete abandonment of the previously compelling story, I almost feel like I was being punked by the show. Like, imagine if Neo awoke in the world of the machines 20 minutes from the end of The Matrix, rather than toward the beginning - it's almost that bad. And it's a little sad, as the first 7 episodes tell a sweet and whimsical story, containing enough serious and increasingly-darker threads to keep things increasingly interesting, starring a really sweet main character, whom the position of POV character is stripped from for the final act. Now, artistically, the final few episodes are actually notably superior, and they deal with much deeper and emotional themes, but frankly I just wish that they were a show of their own; if not, then the show should've at least given us SOME glimpses to how things would change, even if just 2-3 shots at the start of a few episodes, but this was not the case. Now, both stories are compelling, if just rather incompatible (until the final few moments), so I do recommend this series overall - it's well drawn, the music and voice acting is pleasant, and it generally moves at a good pace, playing out like a cross between The Princess Bride and one of the Lunar games (just going into Blade Runner territory later on..).
