When "The Closer" came to a close, doors opened for the detectives in the Los Angeles Police Department's Major Crimes Division, with the biggest opportunity presented to Capt. Sharon Raydor. The captain is now the boss, taking over a department that hasn't forgotten her history of internal investigations targeting them and their former boss, Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson. As Raydor attempts to mend fences and gain the trust and confidence of her detectives -- her biggest foe in that regard is Lt. Provenza -- she leads a unit that works more closely than Johnson ever did with other police and prosecutors to build airtight cases.

This may not be Shakespeare, but for a procedural crime show Major Crimes has a lot going for it: humane storylines, compassionate characters, diverse performers and women who get the job done. Go to Full Review

Try not to roll your eyes too much at the opening scene of TNT's disappointing The Closer spin-off Major Crimes, which trots out the old clich of an amateur ride-along with the seasoned LAPD crime squad. Go to Full Review

It was the shading on the sides that advanced the continuing story of Sharon's involvement with Rusty that was worth the price of admission. Go to Full Review

The first season set a very high bar of success to meet, but I really think this well oiled machine can do it, even with the presence of the new DDA. Go to Full Review

The new series premieres... with an episode so glacial that one has to ask: why are viewers so avidly watching yet another series where the supporting cast spends most of its time watching the lead character work? Go to Full Review

I myself would like to see an episode where Jessie Graff , swat team member, climbs a high rise building to get the bad guy. Hint hint...... See more 04/24/2017 Love the show very much!!
