The characters had no development, in fact, it was if they were the losers their characters are boxed into. This was my favorite show. The characters had appeal. The new group is boring and just mouthy. If it wasn’t for River, Jackson and Diana it would be unwatchable. Gary Oldman remains a standout, while Hugo Weaving brings a menacing presence that adds another layer of tension. The rest of the cast gets plenty of moments to shine, with everyone feeling fully integrated into the story. The stakes remain high throughout, and the show does an excellent job making the danger feel genuine, leaving you constantly wondering who might not make it out. The Slow Horses may be comically incompetent, but this is just infuriating. Standish seems to be the only person that understands they are MI5, whilst the rest are all children. Yes, that is the joke, but it's been years now and surely they've had some character growth? They argue, stand in windows and miss every bullet, including Flyte, who is supposed to be the competent one- yet in her final scene she runs up to a person with their back turned but still shoots from afar (and misses), and also doesn't count her ammo remaining (while wasting ammo constantly). The Russian spies are so annoying, their scenes are stupid and make no sense. Coe has the jump on the guy but decides to give him the heads up. The girl manages to surprise Sid in the forest, even though the leaves would be rustling and give her position from miles away. Harkness trying to kill the "kid" doesn't really make sense. Why would Taverner even make a secret hit in Russia?? See more Paul H @RT94476332 1 day ago Season 6 was a major letdown. The Slow Horses were neutered this season. They barely did any spying, solved almost no mysteries, and never acted tough. Most of the time they went in unarmed and not paying attention. The only lesson I took away is that the bad guys always win, because the Slow Horses got very few wins. If this is the path the show is taking, I hope they end it. Whoever wrote this season did the show no favors.
