This anime series is set at Death Weapon Meister Academy, a training facility for weapon-wielding humans known as meisters, in Death City, Nev. The school's goal is to keep peace in order to prevent the rebirth of the Kishin, an evil god that has previously sent the world into chaos. Each meister at the DWMA is paired with a companion that has both a weapon and human form. Among the meisters is dedicated student Maka Albarn, who is obsessed with achieving a meister's ultimate goal -- turning her weapon partner, Soul Eater, into a death scythe.

Soul Eater is an entertaining and visually striking series, but the viewer is left with the suspicion that more imaginative writing could have made it that much more enjoyable. Go to Full Review

kaelan b @RT33654519 02/20/2025 A really high depth story of how everything wraps itself together like a bow. However it is not for the faint of heart because I showed my mom a part where a character was getting seriously and couldn't bare to watch more of it however really great story. See more Kyle E @Horrorbouy 12/07/2022 Soul Eater is a fairly new anime and manga series in which demons weapons and masters work together, attend a school and carry out missions. The story starts with main characters 'Maka' and 'Soul', Maka being Soul's master and soul being the demon weapon. Soul and Maka are one step away from gaining a high title, yet are disappointed when all their passed hard work is wiped clean by one easy mistake, resulting in them having to start from scratch. As the story progresses, you are introduced to 'Black Star' and his demon weapon 'Tsubaki' and 'Kid' with his demon weapons 'Liz and Patty'. While watching the series, you will gain some incite into the characters histories. Soul Eater is a unique series as it manages to be light hearted, entertaining, up-beat and sinister!!! :o Flawless, must see series. P.S. Sorry if there are any spelling mistakes!!! :o See more 07/28/2022 Originally I would've given it 4.5 stars but after reading the manga and found how bad the anime was comparatively, I couldn't give it any better. The show is quite good but would've been several times better had it followed the manga, it's rather disappointing. See more 08/22/2021 One of the greatest anime ever made. Few shows will ever come close, not even its own spin-off. Soul Eater was a product of love, effortlessly cool, hilarious, light hearted but dark when it needs to be, and perfectly written.
